Brief History of Colorado Springs Eye Surgery Center

Colorado Springs Eye Surgery Center (CSESC) opened its doors for business in September of 1986 with certification from Medicare and the Colorado Department of Health and Regulatory Services. At that time, ownership consisted of four ophthalmologists and one anesthesiologist. In September of 1987, the doctors group entered into a joint venture with Health Care Providers, Inc., now known as COM care, a for profit entity of a local hospital.

There are two operating rooms and a laser procedure room with a YAG and Argon laser.

The clinical staff of CSESC consist of all RN’s, one admission receptionist, a business manager, and an RN administrator. Anesthesia services are provided by contract with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA’s). Turnover of personnel has been minimal. Three of the nurses have been with the center since its inception.
